Unregulated electric dirt bikes are colliding with community safety and carving up Lethbridge’s River Valley.

In recent months, police have noticed more electric dirt bikes (e-dirt bikes) being used on trails in the River Valley and on city streets.

Starting at 9 a.m. Tuesday, November 25, all three lanes of westbound Whoop-Up Drive will re-open for the first time since early August.

With the drop in temperatures and snow arriving today, residents are encouraged to adjust their driving habits to the winter conditions. To help keep Lethbridge moving during winter months, the City of Lethbridge’s Transportation Operations plows and sands roads regularly on a priority system. 

Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services responded to two unrelated fires this past weekend. 

As Canada marked National Housing Day this past weekend, Lethbridge received high praise for its local housing efforts. The recognition follows Lethbridge’s 2024 Housing Needs Assessment (HNA).

Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services responded to a residential structure fire in the 1600 block of 21 Street South at approximately 7:45 a.m. on Friday, November 21.

Starting at 9 a.m. Thursday, November 20, the south lane of westbound Whoop-Up Drive will start taking traffic while continuing repairs will temporarily close the middle westbound lane. This is the latest stage of the major repairs – which remain on schedule – under the Whoop-Up Drive bridge.
