  • Scenic Drive North bridge work

    UPDATE: This work will take place August 12 and 13.

    Maintenance work is set to take place this week on the Scenic Drive overpass above 5 Avenue North. 

    On July 30 and 31, single-lane closures on Scenic Drive will be in effect and two-way traffic will be maintained.

    The River Valley Fire Ban in Lethbridge has been lifted, effective immediately. Recent changes in weather conditions, including higher humidity levels, have reduced the fire risk in this area. 

  • Bridge rehabilitation work on Whoop-Up Drive begins tomorrow

    Bridge rehabilitation work on Whoop-Up Drive will begin tomorrow, July 24, 2025, with lane closures, detours, and traffic delays. Construction will continue until the end of September, with major traffic impacts occurring in the next five weeks. This work is required to maintain this critical piece of our traffic network and prevent costly repairs in the future.

     

  • 5 Street South temporary road closures this week

    As part of the Reimagine 5 Street South project, sewer inspections and survey work is being conducted this week along 5 Street South. Starting tonight, Monday, July 21, to Thursday, July 24, between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., full road closures will take place consecutively, at each block along the corridor. The night closures avoid peak traffic times and ensure safety.

    Bridge rehabilitation work on Whoop-Up Drive will begin next week and construction will continue until the end of September, weather permitting. Lane closures and detours will create traffic delays on Whoop-Up Drive and adjoining commuter routes.
