  • Reconciliation Week 2026

    Reconciliation Week in Lethbridge offers several opportunities to come together, learn and reflect as a community.

  • Southbound Scenic Drive off-ramp to Whoop-Up Drive to be temporarily closed Friday morning

    To accommodate large machinery moving concrete up the ramp expansion, the off-ramp from southbound Scenic Drive onto Whoop-Up Drive will be temporarily closed for a couple of hours on Friday, September 18.

    Highlights and decisions from the September 15, 2026, meeting of Lethbridge City Council.

  • Temporary four-way stop coming to Scenic Drive, 5 Avenue South intersection

    To accommodate an emergency repair, the busy downtown intersection at Scenic Drive South and 5 Avenue South will feature a temporary four-way stop on Wednesday, September 16. The work will take place from 9 a.m. to approximately 1 p.m. The intersection will be set up as a four-way stop during this period.

  • Tell us it isn’t so… is it already time to talk snow?

    It might seem too early to be talking about snow, but the City of Lethbridge is busy preparing for what Old Man Winter might bring our way, including preparing residents for snow routes. 

  • Residents sought for Boards, Commissions and Committees

    Lethbridge residents wanting to make a difference in their community are encouraged to apply to be on one of City Council’s Boards, Commissions and Committees (BCCs). 

  • Lethbridge to honour fallen firefighters at annual memorial

    The September 11 memorial parade will begin at 10:30 a.m. at Fire Station #1, 207 4 Avenue South. Led by the Honour Guard and Pipe Band, uniformed members will march east along 4 Avenue South through downtown to Southminster United Church, where the memorial ceremony will follow. 

  • River Valley fire ban lifted

    The River Valley Fire Ban in Lethbridge has been lifted, effective immediately. 

    Recent precipitation and cooler temperatures have reduced the fire risk in the River Valley. Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services will continue to monitor weather and wind conditions. Fire restrictions may be reinstated if conditions become hot, dry and windy again.

  • Road maintenance: 5 Avenue North

    Beginning today, 5 Avenue North is closed between 12 Street and 12B Street North while crews complete road maintenance.
