  • Lethbridge’s River Valley fire ban remains in effect

    The City of Lethbridge’s River Valley fire ban remains in effect. The wildfire danger in Lethbridge remains EXTREME. Ongoing heat, low humidity and wind are creating conditions that fuel intense wildfire behaviour. New wildfires can spread rapidly under these conditions.

  • Water safety reminders

    In recognition of National Drowning Prevention Week (July 21-27, 2024), Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services (LFES) is reminding residents and visitors to be safe near water. To help everyone reduce risks while enjoying the Oldman River, or any other water body, LFES has compiled important reminders and tips to keep your family and friends safe.

    Call for community wellbeing proposals due next week

    Eligible individuals, community not-for-profit organizations and for-profit organizations have one week left to submit proposals for funding for initiatives aligned with the Community Wellbeing Call for Proposal (CFP) and Community Wellbeing and Safety Strategy (CWSS).

    The weekly Water Wednesday series provides information, conservation tips and expert analysis on all things ‘water’ in the Lethbridge area. 

  • Whoop Up Drive Night traffic lights
    Road construction impacts for Whoop-Up Drive, plus Crowsnest Trail, from July 22-24

    With the continuation of the Whoop-Up Drive bridge rehabilitation project, crews will be working at night starting Monday, July 22, through Wednesday, July 24. Additionally, starting at 9 a.m. Monday until about 5 p.m. Tuesday, 28 Street South will be closed at Highway 3 (Crowsnest Trail) for water-related work.

    Learn to ride the bus with Lethbridge Transit

    Calling all parents who are looking for a safe and cool way to chauffer their kids to their summer adventures! Lethbridge Transit staff will be at the Lethbridge Farmers’ Market this Saturday sharing information and tips for first-time riders, or anyone wanting to learn more about using the public transit system.

  • University Dr Patching route July 18 2024 map
    Single lane closures on University Drive West on July 18, 2024

    Motorists will encounter single-lane closures on University Drive West tomorrow, July 18, 2024, over the pedestrian tunnel adjacent to the Father Leonard Van Tighem School property. Lane closures will apply to northbound and southbound traffic between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm while road patching is completed. Two-way traffic will be maintained with signage and traffic control measures. 

  • Intersection improvements on Stafford Drive North and 5 Ave North begin tomorrow.

    Beginning July 16, 2024, a four-way stop will be used to control traffic at the Stafford Drive North and 5 Avenue North intersection, while intersection improvements are underway. 

  • 24 Avenue South milling set for July 15

    Milling work along 24 Avenue South, west of 43 Street South, will result in traffic impacts on Monday, July 15.

  • Street Wheelers road closures

    The roar of engines is returning to Lethbridge this weekend. Street Wheelers will take to city streets, and that means some road closures.
