Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services responded to a commercial structure fire near the intersection of Highway 3 and 5 Avenue North at approximately 11:10 a.m. on July 6.

Beginning tomorrow, the City of Lethbridge is taking traffic safety to the next level with the launch of a year-round traffic safety message campaign.

A Sunday outing on the Oldman River became a dangerous emergency when six boaters were caught near the weir during high-water conditions. Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services responded to the weir on the evening of July 5 with crews from four stations, eight emergency apparatus and 18 firefighters. 

Residents are urged to stay away from the Oldman River. Significant rainfall has again caused the river levels to rise quickly.

Due to asphalt paving construction, 4 Avenue South, from 34 Street South to WT Hill Boulevard South, will be closed from 6 p.m. June 30 until the morning of July 2.

To avoid wet, muddy conditions and potential turf damage in Henderson Park, Canada Day organizers have made the decision to shift locations for some of this year’s activities.

Wednesday, July 1 is Canada Day. The City of Lethbridge will have service level changes.

Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services recently transitioned its Public Safety Communications Centre to a modernized and improved system. Emergency Services IP Network, also known as ESInet, replaces aging analog technology that has supported emergency communications for decades. 

Groundwater monitoring and well sampling work will impact traffic near Mayor Magrath Drive South.
