  • Whoop-Up Drive rehabilitation project update – north lane closure begins Friday, July 12

    With the continuation of the Whoop-Up Drive bridge rehabilitation project, work will be moving from the centre lane to the north lane of Whoop-Up Drive westbound beginning Friday, July 12.  

    Traffic will be directed to merge around the lane closures. The work on westbound lanes is expected to be complete by approximately Labour Day weekend in September, weather permitting.  

  • Gyro Spray Park set to open during heat wave

    To help meet another community need and help our residents cool down during the current hot weather forecast, Gyro Spray Park on the westside will be open from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

    Amendment to Land Use Bylaw 6300 to rezone the parcel listed described from Future Urban Development (FUD) to Comprehensively Planned Low Density Residential (R-CL); Mixed Density Residential (R-M); and Park and Recreation (P-R). Applicant: Opportunity Lethbridge

    Proposal:

    Amendment to Land Use Bylaw 6300 to rezone the parcel listed above from from Heavy Industrial (I-H) to Direct Control (DC) to allow for additional land uses on the Parcel beyond what is currently allowed. The majority of the additional land uses are also allowed under the General Industrial (I-G) district in the Land Use Bylaw. These uses are not allowed together under any existing land use district , so a Direct Control district is required.

  • Council approves pilot program to improve resident accessibility for winter and maintain cost-savings

    With a week of plus 30-degree temperatures, snow and ice may be the last thing on people’s minds. But, City Council has approved a new pilot program for the upcoming winter season.

  • Outreach team to provide further supports in community

    Through a new innovative partnership between Community Social Development (CSD), Lethbridge Police Service and the Watch Program, a new approach to outreach will provide enhanced services for the vulnerable population as well as the community at large.
