  • Galt Museum goes electric for new programming cargo van

    The Galt Museum & Archives (Akaisamitohkanao'pa) is taking strides for a more sustainable future. In coordination with the City of Lethbridge, museum staff are excited to announce that its new programming cargo van is an all-Electric Vehicle (EV). The van was recently purchased through the Municipal Climate Change Action Centre (MCCAC), which is a partnership of Alberta Municipalities, Rural Municipalities of Alberta and the Government of Alberta.

  • Road Closure Barrier
    Road Closure – Scenic Drive southbound ramp to westbound Whoop-Up Drive

    On Thursday, July 13, the southbound exit ramp off Scenic Drive on to westbound Whoop-Up Drive, as well as the westbound outside lane on Whoop-Up Drive, will be closed for guardrail repair and pothole patching. This work is expected to take place from 5 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 13, weather permitting.

    The City's Encampment Strategy is now in full operation and seeing success with the support of outreach services and a coordinate response plan. 

  • Changes coming to school and playground zones

    The City of Lethbridge is partnering with Slow Your Roll and the YMCA of Lethbridge to promote upcoming changes aimed at creating safe and consistent speed zones across the community.

    Rezoning the site to I-B and I-G will retain many of the same uses that are allowed under the existing DC bylaw while still allowing the proposed development, as well as the subdivision and consolidation of parcels to occur.

    The City of Lethbridge’s Community Social Development (CSD) team is responsible for the administration and monitoring of provincial and federal funds to prevent and address social issues and needs in our municipality. 

  • Lethbridge Transit introduces new fare collection system

    Lethbridge Transit is excited to introduce new self-serve options with the launch of the upgraded fare collection system. Now customers can buy bus fare anytime, anywhere through the LT Fare mobile app, or by accessing the LTFare.ca web portal.

  • City pilots drinking water stations for summer

    As the weather heats up, be sure to cool off with one of four new drinking water stations as part of a pilot project around the city.

    Chair of the Agenda Review Committee of the City of Lethbridge, Mayor Hyggen has provided notice that the City Council Meeting for the City of Lethbridge, originally scheduled for l :30 P.M., with a Closed Session at 12:30 P.M. on July 11, 2023 has been changed to begin with a Closed Session at l 0:30 A.M. and a public session at l :30 P.M. on July 11, 2023 in the Council Chamber, City Hall, City of Lethbridge.

    The City of Lethbridge is welcoming residents to participate in Goldfish Derby Days to learn about invasive goldfish and koi found in local stormponds.
