Throughout the summer months, the City’s Encampment Response Team (ERT) has been busy responding to calls and providing outreach services for individuals experiencing homelessness in our community. On Tuesday, Lethbridge City Council received the latest update on the City of Lethbridge’s Encampment Strategy – which recaps the June 14 to August 26 reporting period.
The City of Lethbridge is removing two unauthorized structures in the River Valley. One structure is in Botterill Bottom Park, the other is in the Lethbridge Nature Reserve. The removals come after environmental experts determined the structures are harming the environment.
City crews are working to repair a water valve at the intersection of Walsh Drive West and University Drive West. The work is being done in the median.
After a hiatus through August, Lethbridge City Council is about to return to its regular schedule of meetings. The next City Council meeting is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 17.
A busy roadway will be impacted by guardrail work this weekend.
Maintenance and clean-up will happen on Scenic Drive North, between 5 Avenue North and 9 Avenue North, on Sunday. The work is expected to be completed in one day.
