    Highlights from the October 31, 2023, Lethbridge City Council meeting

  • Fall Back means change your clocks, check your smoke detectors

    As clocks are falling back an hour this weekend, the City of Lethbridge Fire & Emergency Services encourages residents to also utilize this time as their bi-annual reminder to check your home’s smoke detectors as well as to change your furnace filters.

  • City takes proactive steps to maintain water supply

    It probably comes as no surprise that limited precipitation in 2023 has led to lower than typical water reserves across southern Alberta. The City of Lethbridge is carefully monitoring and taking proactive steps to ensure a sustained water supply for the region. 

  • City to assess incentivizing development for childcare spaces

    For the general benefit of the community, municipalities across the country, including here in Alberta, have taken specific steps to incentivize the development of new childcare spaces. At its meeting Tuesday, Lethbridge City Council voted to direct Administration to complete a childcare needs assessment.

  • Updates from City Council’s Organizational Meeting

    Changes to the Standing Policy Committees (SPC) will begin this week and the 2024 Council and SPC meeting calendar is set. At its annual Organizational Meeting on Tuesday, Lethbridge City Council also voted to confirm administration appointments to its Boards, Commissions and Committees (BCC), as well as to officially rescind the Ward Boundary Commission Bylaw.

  • River Valley Fire Ban Lifted

    Due to the change in the weather conditions, the Fire Ban has been lifted for the River Valley area effective immediately.

  • Westside house fire Saturday night

    Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services responded to a house on Mt. Burke Boulevard West at about 9 p.m. on Saturday, October 28.

  • Clean Energy Program applications now open again

    Applications are now open once again for the City of Lethbridge's Clean Energy Improvement Program (CEIP), which will provide homeowners with a financial tool to support energy efficiency and renewable energy upgrades to their properties.
