  • Quick response contains vehicle fires behind south Lethbridge business

    Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services responded to reports of a vehicle fire behind a commercial property in the 1400 block of 2 Avenue South at approximately 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 25.

  • New traffic calming features help curb speeding in Lethbridge

    Commuters in Lethbridge will notice some new traffic calming features this spring. Traffic calming curbs and digital speed feedback signs have been installed on selected roadways throughout the city to help reduce driving speeds.

    Two speed feedback signs will be installed on Whoop-Up Drive on Friday, May 23, 2025. Commuters can expect partial lane closures. 

  • Pothole patching season is heating up

    As the weather heats up, road construction season follows suit.  

    The City of Lethbridge’s Transportation Operations department has been completing minor road repairs since mid-April. With outdoor temperatures warming up, those efforts are moving into high gear. 

  • City reminds residents to sign up for e-billing amid possible postal strike

    Due to the possibility of a strike at Canada Post, Lethbridge residents are encouraged to register for e-billing for their utility bills. This will ensure residents receive their bills on time, should there be a disruption in mail delivery.

  • New study paving the way for safer roads in Lethbridge.

    The City of Lethbridge Transportation department is undertaking a comprehensive road safety project with a focus on addressing the leading causes of road collisions and fatalities, particularly for vulnerable road users.

    The goal of this project is to decrease vehicle related fatalities, injuries and collisions in Lethbridge with a targeted communications and outreach approach. The project’s scope includes:  

    • Understanding and shifting the local culture around road safety and risky behaviors.   
    • Developing year-long materials and campaigns to increase awareness about road safety.  
    • Complete School Travel Plans at all elementary schools in Lethbridge.
