FIRE BAN CONTINUED | As of October 21, 2020
Even though the City of Lethbridge is currently considered low risk for fire, due to the COVID pandemic, we will be keeping the fire ban in effect for the river bottom area. As much as we would love for citizens to enjoy a bonfire with family and friends in the river bottom, it is very difficult to maintain social distancing around a campfire, especially when numbers for public gatherings can reach up to 50 persons.
This fire ban does
not include the use of back yard fire pits following the City of Lethbridge open burning bylaw (Bylaw 5858) or fires which are fueled by gasses (gas or propane fueled fire rings, BBQs, stoves and heaters).
Please visit our webpage on
fire pits for information on back yard fire pits.
